A referral from a GP or specialist is required before an appointment can be scheduled. Referrals can be emailed or faxed to 07 3217 8255.
Please check that the details on your referral are correct and there is a contact phone number listed so that we can call you to schedule the appointment. You can also call our rooms after the referral has been sent.
As the appointments are scheduled, we do run close to time as we recognise that your time is valuable. Please arrive in our rooms no later than 10 minutes prior to your appointment so as to complete a New Patient form.
Under Medicare rules, you need a valid referral from either a GP or specialist in order to be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
For your convenience, Brisbane Genetics also provides a Telemedicine Consultation Service for eligible patients.
After you have booked your initial consultation, the details of the appointment will be sent to you by email or letter. Your initial appointment will be 45-60 minutes.
RESCHEDULING / CANCELLING AN APPOINTMENT
Telephone our office during business hours and allow 24 hours notice so that we can offer the appointment to other patients on our waiting list.
A Cancellation fee of $160 will apply for cancelled appointments without 24 hours notice.
BILLING
The consultation fees are advised at the time of booking your appointment and will also be in the Appointment email sent to you at the time of booking. Please take the time to read this Appointment email carefully and call our rooms if you have further questions.
Payment is required on the date of the consultation and the Medicare rebate will be processed.
